June 13, 2011 - Goodbye New York City, Hello Philadelphia

Hello, Hallo, Konnichiwa, Sziasztok, Hola, Annyung!

After two amazing days in New York, we spent the last day at the Statue of Liberty. With excitement we went on the boat and saw the impressive Skyline of New York City. The boat stopped at Ellis Island, the most hopeful place for immigrants to get to New York. But also the exchange students loved to take pictures and enjoyed the view of the Statue of Liberty. After 50 min of taking pictures like crazy and spending energy jumping around, we fell asleep on the boat ride.

To get to the Grand Central Station we got to take the Subway!!!!! It’s an important way to get around and you can see how different the people are. The heat was killing us cause we had to squeeze 55 people into one wagon.

After an excitement subway ride we finally arrived in Grand Central Station. The place, where 500,000 pass every day and where famous movies like Madagascar took place. We took the free time to explore the underworld and enjoyed for the last time the busy city that never sleeps.

We got on the bus and listened to the song Empire State of Mind from Alicia Keys. That was our way to say goodbye to New York and Hello to Philadelphia.  The two hours bus ride flew bye cause we watched the Movie Easy A. With the rest of our energy we started to dance and sing.
We finished our day with a delicious Italian Restaurant called Buca Beppo and had amazing food. It was an awesome day and we’re excited for the upcoming 10 days!
